While there was no action on the water Friday at Thunder 2009, there was lots of action in the pits. The teams had a casual Friday to set up their camps for the weekend. The ABRA and Thunder on the Ohio, Inc. opened the pits for a couple of hours Friday evening to let the fans see the boats up close and meet the drivers and teams.

Many fans eagerly made their way to each team, but one of the most popular was the Go3 Racing Team. The hometown favorite Master Tire and driver Jimmy King stayed busy with a steady flow of fans. Jimmy posed for pictures and signed everything given to him---buttons, hats, shirts, posters, postcards----and his Sharpie stayed busy!

The fans who stayed around also got a treat. Ed Cooper fired up the loud Allison V-12 for a systems check, and all eyes were on the Big Red Turbinator. Needless to say, the noise is what draws most fans to the Go3 Racing Team, locally and all over the country.

The free pit access was a huge success---for the kids and the adults.
